Earnings Returned to Tennessee Correctional Officers
Following a week-long class action trial, a jury found that Metro Nashville had been unjustly enriched for nearly nine years at the expense of the class of correctional officers at five Davidson County, Tennessee, detention centers. The parties reached a $2,100,000 settlement of the correctional officers’ claims that Metro had been improperly paying them for their shift time rather than the time worked. Noel v. Metro. Gov’t of Nashville & Davidson Cnty., Tenn., No. 3:11-cv-00051 (M.D. Tenn.) (2016).
